College of Dentistry discussed M.Sc. Thesis entitled ” Dimensional Accuracy and Color Stability of Nanoparticles Reinforced Denture Base Materials ” on 2 March 2023 forwarded by Ghadaq Muyser Younus. The study evaluated the dimensional accuracy and translucency of denture base materials after reinforcing them with zirconium oxide and silicon oxide nanoparticles and immersion in beverages solutions. It was proved by the study that there was a significant increase in dimensional stability of denture base material reinforced with nanoparticles (1% silicon oxide and 35 zirconium oxide). The color stability was also improved by adding 1% zirconium oxide and 1% silicon oxide to denture base materials.
The examination Committee was chaired by Assist. Prof. Dr. Ammar Khalid Alnori / College of Dentistry/ University of Mosul and with the membership of Assist. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Moayed Saadoon/ College of Dentistry/ University of Mosul and Assist. Prof. Dr. Shakir Mahmood Saeed / Chemistry / Al-Noor University College and with supervision and membership of Assist. Prof. Dr. Radhwan Himmadi Hasan/ College of Dentistry/ University of Mosul.
The thesis was accepted after making the recommended corrections.
