Organizational Structure of the Student Activities Unit – College of Dentistry
The Student Activities Unit is one of the important administrative units due to its direct association with students and its role in serving them through all aspects of student activities. The Unit encompasses sports activities, artistic and cultural activities, as well as scouting activities.
Vision:
The Unit seeks leadership and excellence in developing and enhancing students’ skills across various sports, scouting, artistic, and cultural fields, with the aim of preparing them to contribute to society with refined and positive attributes.
Mission:
The mission of the Unit is to identify talented students in the sports, artistic, cultural, and scouting fields and to refine their talents in order to elevate them to the highest possible level, enabling them to become an effective contributor to society. In addition, the Unit aims to create a recreational environment that helps students alleviate the pressures of academic and daily life, while also familiarizing them with relevant sports, scouting, and artistic regulations.
Objectives of the Student Activities Unit College of Dentistry
Developing and fulfilling students’ needs, interests, and inclinations, nurturing and refining their talents, and directing them toward the positive and constructive utilization of leisure time, whether in sports, artistic, cultural, or scouting activities.
Contributing to the development of students’ future personalities by fostering responsibility, self-confidence, cooperation, guidance, and selflessness.
Establishing positive relationships between students and faculty members and administrative staff through involving them in various internal and external activities.
Strengthening social relations between students at the College and students at other University colleges through participation in sports, artistic, cultural, and scouting gatherings and championships organized by the Student Activities Unit and the Department of Student Activities at the University.
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities of Sports Activities
Managing and organizing sports activities within the College for both genders (male and female students).
Providing an appropriate environment for practicing sports activities within the College.
Preparing and implementing advanced educational and training programs that support the university sports movement.
Developing students’ athletic talents and providing suitable psychological and health-related conditions.
Strengthening sports relations with Student Activities Units in other colleges and with the Department of Student Activities at the University of Mosul through participation in internal and external championships (male and female students).
Duties and Responsibilities of Artistic Activities
Embracing artistic activities for college students and utilizing leisure time to develop their interests and inclinations in various fields such as poetry, drawing, calligraphy, sculpture, and music.
Organizing exhibitions and festivals related to all forms of artistic works and skills.
Supporting and developing students’ artistic talents.
Participating in artistic activities and exhibitions organized by the Artistic Activities Division at the University of Mosul, which represents the primary channel for students’ participation in artistic festivals.
Duties and Responsibilities of Scouting Activities
Preparing Rover Scouts and Girl Guides who actively contribute to community service.
Participating in scouting activities and camps through organizing camps and student gatherings.
Participating in courses related to the preparation of Scout Leaders and Girl Guide Leaders (male and female students).
Strengthening relations with Student Activities Units in other colleges and with the Department of Student Activities at the University of Mosul through scouting gatherings and camps held for this purpose.
In Addition
Responding to official correspondence received from the University and the College.
Responding to all student inquiries related to activities and their implementation schedules.
Providing students with the necessary training equipment and supplies for games and activities organized inside and outside the College.

Through our vision, we strive to achieve a comprehensive sports environment that promotes students’ health and well-being, contributes to the development of team spirit and positive competition, and helps in building a balanced personality capable of achieving goals.
Mission:
The mission is defined by providing a variety of sports activities aimed at enhancing physical fitness, teaching values of cooperation and discipline, and motivating students to actively participate in sports activities. We believe that sports are a means to promote physical and mental health, as well as a tool for building an active and cohesive university community.

Promoting Health: By improving students’ physical fitness and overall health.
Skills Development: By enhancing individual and team sports skills.
Encouraging Sportsmanship: By fostering positive competition and mutual respect.

The vision of artistic and cultural activities is to establish a comprehensive educational environment that enhances the development of students’ personal, social, and leadership skills, contributing to the formation of well-rounded individuals and preparing them to effectively face future challenges.
Mission:
The mission is realized by providing a variety of student activities that encourage innovation and creativity, foster collaboration among students, and support the development of academic and practical skills. We believe in the importance of teamwork and active participation in building a vibrant university community.
Goals and Objectives:
Supporting Artistic Activities: Nurturing the artistic talents of students and utilizing their free time to develop interests in various fields such as poetry, painting, calligraphy, sculpture, and music.
Organizing Exhibitions and Festivals: Showcasing all forms of artistic work and skills.
Talent Development: Identifying and enhancing students’ talents.
Participation in University-Level Events: Engaging in artistic activities and exhibitions organized by the Artistic Unit at the University of Mosul, which serves as the primary platform for student participation in art festivals.
Scouting Activities
Mr. Mohammed Hasan Ali – Head of the Scouting Unit
Vision:
The vision of the scouting movement is to prepare a generation of university students distinguished by ethical values and life skills, enabling them to become active and responsible citizens. The movement aims to develop students physically, mentally, and spiritually through scouting activities that emphasize teamwork, exploration, and experiential learning.
Mission:
The mission of the scouting movement is to contribute to the development of students to reach their full physical, intellectual, social, and spiritual potential as individuals and responsible citizens, playing a positive role in building a better world. The movement focuses on equipping students with the skills, knowledge, and values needed to assume responsibility, serve the community, and promote peace and understanding among peoples.
Goals and Objectives:
Preparing scouts and guides who actively contribute to community service, foster leadership, independence, mutual respect among youth, and participate in scouting activities and camps.
Conducting specialized training courses for scouting leaders and guides (male and female students).
Strengthening collaboration with student activity units across colleges and the University of Mosul through gatherings and camps organized for this purpose.

I. Internal College Activities
Cultural Activities:
An introductory seminar for first-year students, attended by the Dean of the College.
A scientific workshop on the risks of psychoactive substances.
A workshop in collaboration with the College of Law on sustainable development.
Organizing a scientific competition for college students.
Artistic Activities:
Participation in art panels as part of sustainable development events.
Organizing a visual arts exhibition in the college gardens.
Organizing a charity bazaar and art exhibition in cooperation with the Sawaaed Mosul Organization.
Voluntary Activities:
Collaborating with the Vitamin Organization for dental checkups and treatment of orphans.
Organizing a student bazaar in the college gardens.
Hosting an iftar meal for students of internal departments.
Hosting an iftar meal for fifth-year students.
Sports and Scouting Activities:
Organizing a chess tournament for female students.
Organizing a table tennis tournament for students.
Organizing a five-a-side football tournament for all college levels (first semester).
Organizing a five-a-side football tournament (second semester).
Organizing a college sports festival.
Conducting a scouting camp in the college gardens.
Organizing a chess tournament for students.
Organizing a badminton tournament for students.
Hosting an award ceremony for students participating in student activities for the academic year 2023/2024.
