College of Education for Pure Science

This department was established in 1975 as a Physics and Mathematics department. Soon later, the department only specialized in pure Physics when the figure of students and academic staff increased. The Department of Physic is linked and cooperated with many departments and colleges interested in theoretical and experimental physics at the University of Mosul. In this framework, some of the academic staff cover several courses in the College of Engineering and College of Pharmacy at the University of Mosul. Moreover, some of our academic staff cover academic courses in Engineering Collage and in Technical University as well as in high prestigious schools in the province. On the other hand, the postgraduate study (MSc and Ph. D.) was started in the department in 1995. The students in this stage have to pass the courses in the first year of the high scientific level materials. After that, the students have to conduct a research project for one year to get a Master’s degree and two years to get a Ph D. Beyond this, the postgraduate students cooperate their projects in different fields such as medicine, chemistry, biology and engineering in other departments and colleges and even, international universities. Additionally, some of the graduate students join prestigious international universities to get degrees in specific areas.
