The Environmental Research Center Holds a Scientific Symposium on Environmental Impacts on Women’s Reproductive Health

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, and under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Saba Khairuddin Ibrahim, Director of the Environmental Research Center, and with the participation of the Spirit of Life Center for Infertility Treatment and IVF, the Environmental Research Center held a scientific symposium entitled “Environmental Impacts on Women’s Reproductive Health.” The symposium, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit and the Sustainable Development Unit at the University Presidency, took place on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, in the Scientific and Literary Forum Hall. The symposium was attended by Assistant Professor Dr. Rafel Hassan Hamid, Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, and several members of the University Council and affiliates of the University and the Center.
The symposium opened with a speech by Dr. Saba Khairuddin Ibrahim, Director of the Center, followed by a speech by Dr. Abdul Sattar Abdul Qader Al-Sinjari, Director of the Spirit of Life Center.
The symposium included a scientific session chaired by Dr. Raja Ahmed Younis, and rapporteured by Assistant Professor Dr. Zahraa Ezz El-Din Younis.
The symposium included three specialized scientific lectures: the first, entitled “Reproductive Health and IVF Techniques,” was presented by Dr. Nazir Al-Hindawi. The second, entitled “Mechanisms of Work in the Embryo Laboratory,” was presented by embryologist Hadeel Hussam Ahmed Odeh. The symposium concluded with a third lecture, entitled “Environmental Influences and Their Role in Reproductive Health,” delivered by Dr. Sahar Adnan Sheet.
The symposium aimed to shed light on the relationship between environmental factors and women’s reproductive health and to raise scientific awareness of the importance of a healthy environment in supporting fertility technologies and reproductive care.
