Mosul Studies Center staff participate in a workshop at the Central Library on the importance of learning English
As part of the efforts of the Mosul Studies Center administration, represented by the Center’s Director, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Nizar Al-Dabbagh, to encourage and develop the work of administrative staff and involve them in cultural activities at the University of Mosul, Mr. Mohammed Muslim, Mr. Ali Majid, and Ms. Shahd Wadallah participated in a workshop organized by the Continuing Education Division at the Central Library entitled: “Why is English Essential for Librarians?” The workshop was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Jassim Mohammed, Secretary General of the University of Mosul Libraries, and moderated by Ms. Saba Maad Al-Jubouri, Head of the Continuing Education Division. The workshop aimed to highlight the importance of English language proficiency for librarians and its role in enhancing librarians’ ability to access global resources. The workshop also addressed key basic English language skills, such as understanding international cataloging rules and working with electronic databases, to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goals 4, 5, 8, and 10.
