Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul,
and under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Nizar Al-Dabbagh, Director of the Mosul Studies Center,
As part of the Mosul Studies Center’s efforts, in cooperation with the Studies and Planning Department – Sustainable Development Unit/University of Mosul, to participate in cultural activities that serve the community and promote the values of peaceful coexistence, and upon an official invitation from Consulting Engineer Fares Abdul Sattar/Mosul Heritage Foundation, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Nizar Al-Dabbagh, Director of the Mosul Studies Center, along with Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Ahmed Al-Obaidi, Head of the Department of Literary Studies and Documentation at the Center, attended the opening ceremony of the Old City Documentation Center at the Bishop Suleiman Al-Sayegh House. The center was established by UNESCO with support from the United Arab Emirates, in cooperation with Qallab Company and the Mosul Heritage Foundation. The ceremony took place on Wednesday morning at 11:00 AM, in the presence of official figures from Nineveh Governorate, the General Authority for Antiquities, representatives from UNESCO, the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, and a select group of academics and researchers specializing in the antiquities and heritage of Mosul, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goals 4, 8, 11, and 16.
