As part of the Mosul Studies Center’s efforts to monitor cultural activities at the University of Mosul, and under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Nizar al-Dabbagh, Director of the Mosul Studies Center, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Ahmed al-Obaidi of the Mosul Studies Center attended the scientific symposium held by the Student Activities Department entitled (The Scourge of Extremism: Diagnostic Features and Means of Confrontation: An Academic Perspective) on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, in the Scientific and Literary Forum Hall. The symposium, moderated by Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Sabah Qasim, included several aspects:
– The legal aspect: Dr. Zakir Muhammad Saeed, Imam of the Great Mosque of al-Nuri, presented
– The psychological aspect: Professor Dr. Nazim Shaker al-Watar, Professor of Sports Psychology at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, presented
– The intellectual aspect: Dr. Muhammad Hazem, Assistant Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences for Administrative and Financial Affairs, presented
– The social aspect: Assistant Professor Dr. Iman Hammadi Rajab presented
The symposium was attended by the Assistant President of the University of Mosul For Administrative and Financial Affairs, Professor Dr. Rafel Hassan Hamid Al-Khazraji, representing the President of the University of Mosul; Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences, Professor Dr. Taha Hammad Mukhlef; Director of the Student Activities Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Abdul Malik Suleiman Muhammad; and a number of University of Mosul officials and staff.
