……..
As part of the efforts of the Mosul Studies Center administration, represented by Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Nizar al-Dabbagh, to encourage the center’s researchers to open up to cultural institutions, Prof. Dr. Amer Abdullah al-Jumaili, Head of the Cultural Relations Committee and a lecturer at the Mosul Studies Center, published an academic paper entitled “Babylonian Geographical Knowledge” in the first issue (June 2025) of the Ziwa Kaldaya (The Chaldean Ray) magazine, a general cultural quarterly magazine published by the Chaldean Association in Ankawa, Erbil, in four languages: Arabic, Kurdish, Syriac, and English. This aspect enhances the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals by achieving the following objectives:
Goal 4: Quality education, represented by the dissemination of knowledge and the enhancement of reading and critical thinking skills.
Goal 10: Embodied in reducing inequalities, as cultural journals contribute to opening a space for the voices of diverse communities.
Goal 11: Sustainable cities and communities, which contribute to the preservation of intangible cultural heritage through documentation and publication.
Goal 16: Peace, justice, and strong institutions that, through cultural journals, open the door to peaceful coexistence on societal issues.
Goal 17: Building partnerships, as cultural journals represent platforms for collaboration between intellectuals and cultural institutions locally and internationally.
