A dictionary book has been published by the Summit Copying Office in Mosul, titled (Dictionary of Countries in Cuneiform Texts – Geographical Locations in the Cuneiform Heritage in Mesopotamia and the Ancient Near East). The 806-page book is adorned with geographical lists, maps, and country investigations by Professor Dr. Amer Abdullah Al-Jumaili, a lecturer at the Mosul Studies Center. This book is one of the books registered as part of the Mosul Studies Center’s activities for the 2024-2025 academic year.
Definition of the Dictionary: This dictionary, which was completed over a period of 20 years, includes 6,000 geographical locations (villages, towns, cities, provinces, countries, capitals, rivers, lakes, seas, mountains, tribes, islands, etc.) mentioned in the cuneiform geographical heritage through Sumerian, Babylonian, Assyrian, Elamite, Hurrian, Eblaite, Ugaritic, Hittite, Achaemenid, Urartu, and other cuneiform texts, in their original historical form and the changes that have occurred to them over time and the archaeological mounds and local sites that correspond to them today.
