Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, and in confirmation and implementation of his directives to keep pace with global scientific developments in selecting distinctive titles for research, theses, and dissertations, the Mosul Studies Center attended, represented by the Center’s Director, Asst. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Nizar Al-Dabbagh; the Editor-in-Chief of the Center’s Mosul Studies Journal, Asst. Prof. Dr. Maysoun Thanoun; and the Head of the Department of Historical and Social Studies, Asst. Prof. Dr. Suhaib Hazem and Mr. Ali Mukhlef, Scientific Affairs Officer at the Center, participated in the first specialized workshop held by the Scientific Affairs Department at the University Presidency today, Thursday, October 2, 2025, entitled: Mechanisms for Selecting Modern Research Titles (Hot Topics) Using the Research Horizon Navigator (WOS) Tool. The workshop was presented by Dr. Awfa Abdul Wahab Al-Adwani, in the presence of Assistant Deans of Colleges for Scientific Affairs, Directors of Centers, and Heads and Members of Higher and Postgraduate Committees in all university formations. The workshop focused on identifying modern research trends (Hot Topics) and using the Research Horizon Navigator tool to identify promising research areas and enhance the capabilities of instructors and researchers to select influential titles that contribute to raising the quality of scientific publishing in reputable journals.
