A new training program for Nineveh Governorate employees in pursuit of Sustainable Development Goal 16.

The Peacebuilding and Peaceful Coexistence Center, in coordination with the Nineveh Governorate, held a workshop to build the capacity of members of the subcommittees for combating violent extremism in Nineveh.
The workshop, led by Fathi Mohammed Fathi Al-Hayani, focused on community resilience techniques for confronting violent extremism, preventive frameworks, and rehabilitation and social reintegration, including challenges such as social stigma and negative societal reactions. The workshop featured in-depth discussions and emphasized the need for continued cooperation among various state institutions to prevent, reduce, and counter extremism. This workshop is part of the Peacebuilding Center’s efforts to enhance the capabilities of Nineveh Governorate employees in promoting a culture of peace and peaceful coexistence.
