The Peace Building Center cooperate with Nineveh Governorate

Within the framework of openness to community institutions, a delegation from the Center for Peacebuilding and Peaceful Coexistence, headed by Assistant Professor Dr. Fathi Muhammad Al-Hayani, Director of the Center, accompanied by a number of researchers, visited the Nineveh Governorate. The delegation met with Mr. Sirwan Al-Ruzbiani, First Deputy Governor of Nineveh. The Director of the Center reviewed the Center’s vision for working in the field of peacebuilding and its most prominent activities at the university and community levels. As well as, its role in building the capacities of state employees and community members to deal with several issues such as rejecting violence and extremism and enhancing community cohesion. From his side, the Deputy Governor praised the importance of the role played by the Center in consolidating the principles of peace and spreading its culture. He emphasized the Governorate’s interest in the topic of enhancing the capabilities of the Governorate’s staff as well as its support for the Center’s efforts. The two sides decided to keep working together and coordinating in order to accomplish the Center’s and the Governorate’s objectives of creating a stable, safe, and sound society where people live in harmony and cohabitation.
