Under the patronage of the respected Professor Dr. Qusay Kamal Al-Din Al-Ahmadi, President of the University of Mosul, and under the supervision of the respected Assistant Professor Dr. Maan Hassan Abdullah, Dean of the College of Petroleum and Mining Engineering. As part of the series of activities of the College of Petroleum and Mining Engineering, the second stage of the Mining Engineering Department organized a scientific visit to Duhok / Semel on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. During the visit, a detailed explanation was provided about geological structures, rock formations, their importance from an engineering and mining perspective, and how to conduct surveys for quarrying and mining purposes. In addition, participants observed drilling and blasting operations and the machinery used in quarrying, transportation, and screening processes. The visit was supervised by Dr. Hudhaifa Raad Hamza, Dr. Nihad Saud Najm, Assistant Lecturer Yasser Fares Ghanem, Assistant Lecturer Adel Akram, Assistant Lecturer Yasser Fares Ghanem, Assistant Lecturer Sarah Mowfaq, Ms. Hadeel Mohammed Salman, and Assistant Lecturer Mouj Ali Hussein.
