Seeds of Mercy Bloom at the College of Petroleum and Mining Engineering

Affirming the college’s commitment to the university’s initiatives that promote environmental sustainability and enhance ecological awareness, and within the framework of the “Ghras Al-Rahma” (Seeds of Mercy) initiative launched by the Presidency of the University of Mosul, the College of Petroleum and Mining Engineering organized a green campaign on Thursday, 6 November 2025, in its gardens. The campaign was supervised by the Dean, Assistant Professor Dr. Ma’n Hassan Abdullah Al-Majid, in cooperation with the Presidency’s Estate Affairs Department / Agricultural Unit and the Media and Government Communications Department.
The campaign included the planting of trees and flowering shrubs with wide participation from students and staff, reinforcing values of beauty, belonging, and environmental responsibility, and contributing to the formation of a green belt within the university campus for a cleaner and more sustainable environment.
This effort comes as part of the college’s ongoing approach to strengthening teamwork, volunteerism, and the preservation of green spaces, in alignment with the University of Mosul’s vision and its mission to serve the environment and the community.
