Sustainability
This concept that is beginning to emerge in the field of environmental science refers to the preservation, diversity, and production of biological systems over time. Human sustainability, on the other hand, means our ability to maintain quality of life for long periods, which depends on preserving the natural environment and using natural resources responsibly. In terms of human resources, sustainability refers to the ability to maintain a sustainable existence, with environmental, economic and social impacts.
Renewable energy: Sustainability represents a collective commitment to address current and future energy and climate challenges in innovative and responsible ways, including reducing carbon emissions and facilitating the reuse, recycling and decarbonization. Renewable energy contributes to confronting climate change, supporting sustainable development, and promoting economic diversification by reducing carbon emissions and expanding the use of technologies to capture, use and store carbon, allowing the international community to continue to grow, achieve sustainability, and harmonize energy and climate requirements.
Environmental Policy of the College of Petroleum and Mining Engineering: The environmental sustainability policy is considered an essential element in the renewed vision of the University of Mosul in general and the College of Petroleum and Mining Engineering in particular. The college’s environmental policy is based on several main axes.
