Conclusion of the First Phase of Startup Exchange to Prepare Petroleum Engineering Students for the Job Market

The first phase of the Startup Exchange program – Season Three – concluded as part of a series of capacity-building trainings, with the participation of a distinguished group of students from the three departments of the College of Petroleum and Mining Engineering – University of Mosul, alongside a select group of petroleum engineering students from various provinces of Iraq.
This phase was held at the Technical Engineering College – Basrah, in a joint organization between the Meshwar Foundation for Training and Development and the Iraqi Engineers Union – Nineveh Branch / Petroleum Engineering Division.
The training spanned three days and included intensive development programs focused on enhancing leadership skills, improving communication and teamwork abilities, and increasing students’ professional readiness through interactive methods that link academic knowledge to real-world work environments.
These trainings are part of a comprehensive one-month program that includes a range of specialized practical and technical courses, in addition to field visits to several international companies operating in Basrah. The aim is to provide students with the opportunity to observe real work environments, broaden their professional horizons, and connect their theoretical knowledge with practical application.
This program reflects the commitment of the college and its partners to equip students with skills that align with the requirements of the oil sector job market and enhance their prospects for professional success in the future.
