Regional Studies Center Receives Scholarly Writings to Enrich Its Library Collection

As part of its efforts to support scientific research and strengthen academic knowledge resources, Regional Studies Center at the University of Mosul received on September 9, 2025, three valuable academic works donated by Assist. Prof. Dr. Luma M. Hasan, a faculty member at the University of Wasit, to the Center’s library.

The first book, authored by Dr. Hasan, is titled “Russian Foreign Policy and Crisis Management: The Case of the Karabakh Conflict”, offering insights into Russia’s approaches to managing regional conflicts. The second and third books were co-authored with Prof. Dr. Riyadh Mahdi Al-Zubaidi, under the titles “Artificial Intelligence: From Competition to Conflict in the Policies of Major Powers” and “Dimensions and Implications of the Russian-Ukrainian War and Its Impact on the International System”. Both works provide in-depth analyses of current global developments and their repercussions on the international order.

Such initiatives enrich the library of the Center with reliable resources that support researchers and postgraduate students, while also opening new avenues for understanding international dynamics. They align with the goals of sustainable development, including Quality Education (Goal 4), Gender Equality (Goal 5) through enhancing women’s academic contributions, Innovation (Goal 9), Reducing Inequalities (Goal 10), Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions (Goal 16), and Partnerships for the Goals (Goal 17).

The Center extends its sincere appreciation for this valuable contribution, emphasizing its significance in advancing scientific research, building a solid knowledge base to serve the academic community, and strengthening cooperation among Iraqi universities.
