Central Library Director’s Follow-up Visit to Regional Studies Center Library

As part of the University of Mosul’s commitment to developing its library services and strengthening the infrastructure of research resources, Assist. Prof. Dr. Mohammad J. Mohammad, Director of the Central Library, accompanied by members of the specialized committee, conducted an inspection visit to the Regional Studies Center Library on September 9, 2025. The visit aimed to follow up on the implementation of the automated cataloging system (Koha), review the technical aspects related to improving library operations, and discuss the requirements necessary to provide an integrated information environment that enables researchers and postgraduate students to access resources quickly and accurately.

During his meeting with the library staff, the Director of the Central Library emphasized that adopting modern systems aligns with the university’s orientation toward achieving academic quality and facilitating scientific research. He also highlighted the importance of continuous training and strengthening the technological infrastructure of libraries to enhance the efficiency of the services provided. The delegation further discussed with the library management future needs that would support sustainability and meet the expectations of beneficiaries.

This visit falls within the framework of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, including Goal 4 (Quality Education) by supporting scientific research, Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) through the development of technological systems, Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) by promoting transparency and ease of access to information, and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through institutional collaboration.
