University of Mosul Spreads Joy in Ramadan: Regional Studies Center Participates in Eid Clothing Initiative for 75 Children

As part of the Ramadan Volunteer Work Initiative launched by the University of Mosul, and within the program “Joy of Ramadan and Eid” aimed at promoting values of social solidarity, the Regional Studies Center implemented a humanitarian volunteer initiative by distributing Eid clothing to 75 boys and girls from Amaluna Charity Primary School on the right bank of the city of Mosul. The initiative took place on Monday, March 9, 2026.

This initiative reflects the commitment of academic institutions to strengthening the concept of social responsibility and activating the university’s developmental role in supporting the most vulnerable social groups. It also seeks to bring joy to children as the blessed Eid al-Fitr approaches, while reinforcing the values of compassion, solidarity, and generosity that characterize the holy month of Ramadan.

The initiative further highlights the institutional orientation of the University of Mosul and its research centers toward active engagement in community service and linking academic activity with societal needs. This approach aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those related to poverty reduction, social justice, and strengthening community partnerships that support sustainable development.

The Regional Studies Center emphasized that such initiatives represent a practical pathway for strengthening the relationship between the university and society, while promoting a culture of volunteerism as a fundamental pillar for building a cohesive community capable of facing future challenges.
