As part of the University of Mosul’s ongoing commitment to community service, Prof. Dr. Saddam Mohammad Hameed, researcher and faculty member at the Regional Studies Center, University of Mosul, delivered a scientific lecture during an online workshop organized by the Innovators Foundation for Development and Arts on Sunday, June 21, 2026. The workshop was titled “Social Media Addiction Among Children: Causes and Consequences”.

During his presentation, Dr. Hameed discussed the key factors contributing to the growing use of social media platforms among children, as well as the psychological, social, and behavioral impacts associated with excessive usage. He also presented a number of proposals and recommendations aimed at mitigating this phenomenon and promoting awareness of the safe and responsible use of digital technologies.

This participation reflects the Regional Studies Center’s commitment to contributing to scientific and awareness-raising initiatives that address contemporary societal issues, foster knowledge dissemination, and enhance public awareness.
