Professor Dr. Rayan Ghazi Dhnun, a faculty member at the Remote Sensing Center, participated on Tuesday, 27 January 2026, as a member of the Master’s thesis examination committee in the Department of Forest Sciences, College of Agriculture and Forestry, University of Mosul, for the student Baraa Salem Hussein.
The thesis was entitled:
“Surface Analysis and Its Effect on Certain Anatomical Properties of Maple Wood (Acer cinerascens Bois) in Mount Kara Using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Techniques.”
The study highlighted the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) techniques in analyzing environmental characteristics and linking them with the anatomical properties of wood, thereby enhancing the integration between geospatial technologies and modern forest studies.
This participation reaffirms the role of the Remote Sensing Center in supporting scientific research and expanding the application of modern technologies in environmental and forestry studies.
