As part of the ongoing scientific and research activities of the Remote Sensing Center at the University of Mosul, Assistant Professor Dr. Taha Abdul-Hadi Al-Jawadi and Assistant Lecturer Dina Maan Abdullah, faculty members at the Center, have jointly published a scientific research paper entitled
Two Faculty Members at the Remote Sensing Center Publish a Scientific Research Paper in a Scopus-Indexed Journal
“Spectral Signature Study of Broad Bean Leaves Treated with Different Concentrations of Phosphate Fertilizers”
The research was published in the International Journal of Design & Nature and Ecodynamics, Volume 21, Issue 7, July 2026, a journal indexed in the Scopus database and classified in the third quartile (Q3).
The study investigated the spectral signatures of broad bean leaves treated with different concentrations of phosphate fertilizers, aiming to identify the effects of phosphorus fertilization levels on the spectral characteristics of plants. The research employed remote sensing techniques and spectral measurements, contributing to the development of modern approaches for assessing plant nutritional status and detecting changes associated with phosphorus levels.
The publication reflects the Remote Sensing Center’s efforts to support scientific research and employ remote sensing and spectral analysis techniques in agricultural and environmental applications, while strengthening the presence of the Center’s researchers in internationally indexed scientific journals.
The research is also aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2: Zero Hunger, through supporting scientific research aimed at improving crop productivity and promoting sustainable agricultural practices, and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, by advancing the application of innovative technologies and scientific methods in agricultural and environmental fields.
