Remote Sensing Center Holds a Workshop on Occupational Safety Procedures

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Abdul-Rahman Ramzi Qabaa, Director of the Remote Sensing Center, the Remote Sensing Center held a workshop entitled “Occupational Safety Procedures.”

The workshop was delivered by Mr. Ammar Akram Omar, Civil Defense Officer at the Center. It addressed preventive measures and technical preparedness in workplaces and institutional buildings, with particular emphasis on occupational safety requirements and civil defense procedures aimed at protecting employees and ensuring a safe and appropriate working environment.

The workshop also highlighted emergency response procedures, including rescue, evacuation, and firefighting measures, in addition to familiarizing employees with the locations of main exits and emergency exits to ensure an effective and timely response in the event of an emergency.

The workshop forms part of the Remote Sensing Center’s ongoing efforts to promote a culture of occupational safety, enhance employees’ awareness of emergency preparedness, and support the provision of a safe working environment in accordance with occupational health and safety principles.
