The College of Tourism Sciences organized workshops on the occasion of National Afforestation Day

The College of Tourism Sciences organized two workshops on the occasion of National Afforestation Day, under the patronage of Mr. Mohammed Naif Mahmoud, Assistant Professor and Dean of the College. The first workshop was delivered by Dr. Asan Hashem Hamdoun, Head of the Tourism Studies Department, who explained how afforestation can mitigate the effects of desertification. The second workshop, presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Manal Abdul Jabbar, Head of the Hotel Studies Department, and Assistant Lecturer Heba Khaled Bakr, discussed the active role afforestation plays in achieving sustainable development goals. These workshops stem from the significant importance of afforestation in combating desertification and the adverse effects of climate change, as it is one of the crucial pillars in achieving sustainable development goals.
