Ministerial Committee Visits the College of Tourism Sciences to Evaluate the Academic and Scientific Reality

A ministerial committee responsible for evaluating Iraqi universities’ academic and scientific reality for the 2024–2025 academic year visited the College of Tourism Sciences on Monday, October 6, 2025.

Professor Dr. Manal Raafat Khalid, Dean of the College of Tourism Sciences, warmly received the delegation in the presence of the scientific and administrative assistants and the heads of the academic departments.

Professor Dr Amal Kamal Hassan Abdulwahab from Al-Mustansiriyah University chaired the committee, which included Assistant Professor Dr Muslim Ali Ubayis and Assistant Professor Dr Haider Abdulzayd Khudair from the University of Karbala.

During the visit, the committee reviewed the college’s administrative and academic units and observed the progress of academic and administrative operations. The members praised the efforts made to develop the work environment and enhance the college’s academic and scientific standards.

The committee also visited the College of Tourism Sciences’ new building site to inspect the stages of construction and the project’s specifications. This represents an important step toward strengthening the college’s infrastructure and supporting its future development.

The visit concluded with a meeting between the committee and Professor Dr Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, who welcomed the delegation and commended their efforts in assessing the academic reality and monitoring performance levels in the colleges. He affirmed the university’s commitment to continuous development in line with academic quality and accreditation standards.
