Maintaining presence in the cultural scene of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Qusay Al-Ahmedy, Rector of University of Mosul, attended to the culture lecture delivered by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Jarrullah Yasseen at Al-Qantarah Salle of Culture in Al-Majmooah Quarter, Mosul, on Friday December 27, 2019. The lecture titled (Laugh! Laugh! Until People Believe You Are Laughing.), focused on the impact of political, economic, social and other circumstances in popularizing sarcastic literature especially in the hard times people undergo. The lecture shed light on the various forms this literature takes including sarcastic comic plays and poems, ongoing to other other forms like caricatures and sarcastic photos, which depart from the constant traditional rules even to the zone of absurdity. The reasons behind the popularization of this literature, as the anxiety and contradiction people live and other reasons, were highlighted.
