The Dams and Water Resources Research Center holds a specialized scientific symposium under the slogan “Modern Technologies in Securing and Sustainability of Mosul Dam

 

The Dams and Water Resources Research Center at the University of Mosul held a specialized symposium under the theme “Modern Technologies in Securing and Sustainability of Mosul Dam” in cooperation with the Mosul Dam Project Department, on December 17, 2024.

The symposium addressed the opening lecture, Mosul Dam Safety and Water Security, presented by Senior Chief Engineer Mohammed Khalid Ibrahim, Deputy Director of the Mosul Dam Project.

The scientific papers session included four lectures, the first of which dealt with strategies and plans for managing dam reservoirs in the face of climate change by Assistant Professor Dr. Khalil Ibrahim Osman, the second on the Badush Dam project by Senior Chief Engineer Hatem Tayeb Fathi, the third on modern techniques in the implementation of grouting works for the Mosul Dam by Mr. Marwan Abdul Elah Mahmoud, while the fourth lecture on the stratigraphy of the Mosul Dam site was by Senior Geologist Faris Abdulwahid Al-Naqib.

The symposium came out with several recommendations that were read at the conclusion of the symposium.
