The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, emphasized the ministry’s unwavering commitment and continuous efforts to enhance and develop pathways for scientific research, global publishing, and graduate programs.

Speaking at the Iraqi Science Day Awards Ceremony, attended by senior ministry officials, university presidents, the Academics Syndicate, deans, faculty members, researchers, and students, the minister highlighted that prioritizing science and research has always been a cornerstone of the ministry’s work. He noted that this focus defines the mission of Iraqi universities, colleges, and specialized departments.

Dr. Al-Aboudi further stated that the ministry’s efforts have successfully internationalized higher education by fostering mutual understanding between Iraqi universities and their global counterparts. This includes scholarship exchanges, research opportunities, attracting over 3,000 international students, and hosting international events such as the 46th session of the Arab Scientific Research Councils Union, recently held at the University of Baghdad.

The minister reiterated the ministry’s dedication to advancing scientific research, enhancing global publishing, and expanding graduate programs. He stressed that these initiatives will improve the quality and performance of academic and research institutions while energizing the teaching process.
