College of Education for Pure Sciences Discusses a Ph.D. Dissertation on the Preparation and Characterization of Heterocyclic Compounds Using Cyclization Reactions
The College of Education for Pure Sciences at Mosul University held a discussion for a Ph.D. dissertation titled “Preparation and Characterization of Some Heterocyclic Compounds Using Electrophilic and Nucleophilic Cyclization Reactions”. The session was attended by Prof. Dr. Munir Salem Taha, Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, on Thursday, January 9, 2025.
The study, presented by the researcher Haifa Ahmed Mohammed Al-Badrani, focused on the synthesis of heterocyclic compound derivatives, including isoxazolidine, oxazepine, and oxazolidine-2-thione derivatives of pyran. It also evaluated their biological activities and conducted molecular docking studies for some of them.
The discussion committee was chaired by Prof. Dr. Rafid Kamal Jamil and included the following members: Assistant Prof. Dr. Naem Hazem Saleem, Assistant Prof. Dr. Saeed Abdul Qadir Saleem, Assistant Prof. Dr. Ghufran Zanon Sadiq, and Assistant Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mukhiber Hamdoun, with supervision and membership by Assistant Prof. Dr. Namir Saadallah Ezza and Assistant Prof. Dr. Yasser Shakib Mohammed.
