University of Mosul advances in QS World Rankings for Petroleum Engineering

The University of Mosul has achieved a new achievement in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025, coming in the 151-175th category globally in the specialty of petroleum engineering, among six Iraqi universities that appeared in the ranking, reflecting the university’s continuous development in the fields of education and scientific research.
This progress comes as a culmination of the university’s efforts to develop its academic programs, promote scientific research, and actively participate in international rankings, reflecting its commitment to providing high-quality education that keeps pace with scientific and technological developments.
The rankings are based on the evaluation of 1,730 institutions around the world in 55 academic disciplines covering five main areas: Arts and Humanities, Engineering and Technology, Life Sciences and Medicine, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences and Management, based on criteria including academic reputation, employer reputation, number of research citations, Hirsch Index, and international research network.
