College of Law discusses a master’s thesis on human rights between constitutional protection and maintaining state security

 

The College of Law at the University of Mosul discussed today, Monday, April 28, 2025.
A master’s thesis entitled “Human rights between constitutional protection and maintaining state security / Iraq as a model”.

Part of it was attended by Prof. Dr. Abdulaziz Ramadan Ali, Dean of the College of Law.

The thesis, submitted by student Hassan Muhammad Jassim in the branch of human rights law, dealt with human rights, which represent a fundamental pillar of the democratic system that requires a balance between protecting individual rights and freedoms and ensuring state security.

It tackled the role of the constitution in protecting human rights, focusing on the challenges associated with achieving this balance while outlining the constitutional and legislative frameworks that govern the protection of human rights.

The study was supervised by Assistant Professor Dr. Rafal Hassan Hamed, Assistant to the President of the University for Administrative Affairs.

The discussion committee was chaired by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yousef Muhaimid, with the membership of Prof. Dr. Sahar Muhammad Naguib and Assistant Professor Dr. Luqman Othman Ahmed.
