Over two days of discussions, scientific visions and dialogue sessions at the Nineveh Forum for Interfaith Dialogue for Peace and Coexistence in Nineveh / Iraq, which was launched on April 28-29, 2025, in cooperation with the UNESCO Chair at the University of Mosul with the Colleges of Arts and Law and with the support of the International Dialogue Center KAICIID and the Religion and Security Council in Italy.
In the presence of Mr. Abdul Qader Al-Dakhil, Governor of Nineveh, Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, the Ambassador of the European Union in Iraq, the President of the Religion and Security Council of Italy, the Head of the Cultural Department at the Hashemite University, local officials, academic figures, religious leaders and various civil society organizations.
The Nineveh Document for the Principles of Peace, Dialogue and Coexistence was announced.
This declaration is a major achievement and a product of years of work by the University of Mosul through the efforts of the UNESCO chair and its concerned colleges to heal the division, reject extremism and spread the culture of moderation in Nineveh-often described as a microcosm of Iraq.
The University of Mosul, with its diverse social fabric, reflects the image of harmony and love among the people of one nation, destiny and common purpose.
