The University of Mosul organized a field visit to the Mar Mati Monastery for its Arab and foreign students as part of the “Study in Iraq” program, aiming to introduce them to the cultural and religious diversity and historical landmarks in Nineveh province.

The delegation was led by Prof. Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, accompanied by his assistants for scientific and administrative affairs, and a number of deans of faculties. The delegation was welcomed by His Excellency Bishop Mar Timthaus Moussa, Archbishop of the Diocese of Mar Mati Monastery and Nineveh Plain.

The visit included an introductory tour of the monastery’s corridors and its religious and cultural importance in the region, amid positive interaction from students who expressed their admiration for the place’s antiquity and civilizational significance.
