Prof. Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi attends the discussion of a doctoral dissertation at the College of Dentistry on the effect of combining some active substances with orthodontic adhesive.

In the presence of Prof. Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul.
On Sunday, May 25, 2025, the College of Dentistry discussed a doctoral dissertation titled: “The effects of chitosan nanocomposites loaded with bioactive substances of calcium phosphate and gallic acid to prevent enamel demineralization on some properties of orthodontic adhesive”
The dissertation submitted by the researcher (Lara Riyadh Abdulrahim Al-Binaa) in the branch of pediatrics, orthodontics and preventive dentistry, aimed to prepare and evaluate the effect of adding chitosan nanocomposite loaded with calcium phosphate and gallic acid in orthodontic adhesive primers as an antibacterial and remineralizing agent while maintaining the physical, mechanical and chemical properties of the orthodontic adhesive.
For the first time, the researcher was able to prepare an orthodontic adhesive with antibacterial and remineralizing properties, which enhances the treatment of white spot lesions during orthodontic treatment.
The dissertation culminated in the publication of four papers in prestigious international journals within the Scopus.
The discussion committee was chaired by Prof. Dr. Omar Fawzi Abduljabbar, with the membership of Prof. Dr. Abdulrahman Basil Fadel, Assistant Professor Dr. Naam Riad Salim, Assistant Professor Dr. Alaa Dawud Mahmoud, Assistant Professor Dr. Mustafa Muaz Hamed, and the membership and supervision of Prof. Ali Rajeh Mahmoud and Prof. Fawzi Habib Jabrael.
