College of Administration and Economics discusses contemporary trends in the strategies of the Ministry of Commerce

 

In order to shed light on the most important strategies and future action plans to advance the field of trade, the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul, in the presence of a representative of Prof. Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University, Prof. Abdul Rahim Ibrahim Jassim, his scientific assistant, held on Monday 26 May 2025, the proceedings of its scientific conference entitled (Contemporary Trends of the Ministry of Trade Strategies … Simulation of International Experiences).

The conference was attended by Dr. Ban Faisal, Director of the Investment Development Department, representing the Iraqi Ministry of Commerce, Mr. Muqbel Siddiq Al-Dabbagh, President of the Mosul Chamber of Commerce, Prof. Dr. Jassim Mohammed Al-Tahan, Dean of the College of Administration and Economics at Al-Rashid Academy – Istanbul – Turkey, Assistant Professor Dr. Sinan Zuhair Mohammed, Dean of the College, and a number of university council members and faculty members.

The conference included two scientific sessions that discussed several strategic themes, most notably: The role of entrepreneurship and small enterprises, human resources development to achieve competitiveness, the impact of human capital in trade, e-banking, trade policies and their reflection on the Iraqi economy, in addition to reviewing successful international experiences such as Finland and Qatar.

The conference recommends the need to modernize the strategies of the Ministry of Commerce to keep pace with economic changes, and to enhance the role of small enterprises and human capital to achieve sustainable trade development.
