On the occasion of World Heritage Day … and the selection of Baghdad as the capital of Arab tourism …

The Continuing Education Center at the University of Mosul Presidency holds a scientific symposium on Baghdad Civilization and Heritage.
The Continuing Education Center in the Presidency of the University of Mosul, in cooperation with the Colleges of Tourism Sciences, Archaeology and Fine Arts, held a scientific seminar entitled: “Baghdad, the cradle of civilization and the memory of heritage” (Baghdad, the cradle of civilization and the memory of heritage).
Prof. Dr. Rafal Hassan Hamed, Assistant to the Rector for Administrative and Financial Affairs, attended part of it.
Coinciding with the celebration of World Heritage Day, and on the occasion of choosing Baghdad as the capital of Arab tourism, on Thursday, May 29, 2025.
A group of research papers were presented that focused on highlighting the civilizational role of the capital Baghdad with the aesthetics of its landmarks, the specificity of its architecture and the distinction of its dialect, as well as the available and potential potential for tourism in its religious, therapeutic and recreational branches.
On the sidelines of the symposium, an art exhibition was held that included paintings and photographs in which artists mixed their creativity with artificial intelligence techniques to reflect the specificity of the capital Baghdad and its civilizational landmarks.
