Women, security and peace…. A panel Discussion at the University of Mosul on the UN Security Council Resolution 1325

As part of cooperation between the University of Mosul, Masalah organization for human recourses development and higher commission of human rights/Nineveh office, a panel discussion was organized under the title “UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Security and Peace: Implementation and Challenges”
within the program (women voice in Nineveh) on Thursday,3rd of July,2025.

The assistant prof. Dr.Rafal Hasan Hamed, the Assistant of the President for the Administrative and Financial Affairs, a number of departments and divisions officials at the presidency and colleges, in addition to representatives of governments departments attended the seminar.

The seminar shed the light on the importance of resolution 1325 in enabling the woman, supporting her, enhance her role in keeping peace and building communities, the seminar discussed the most prominent challenges that facing the implementation of the resolution in the local context, and ways to activate it effectively.

The seminar included many specialized research that tackled the mechanism of resolution implementation and field experiences, which contributed to putting forward practical recommendations that can be applied in Nineveh Governorate.
