These circumstances have an impact on a person’s life, especially when they go through twists and turns, stages and changes that can be impactful. When you are displaced and deported for many years, as well as joining activities in the service of society. But the will remains the most important factor in this regard. As for the humanities and political sciences in particular, where you need several components of will, determination and desire.
From an early age, my family, friends and those close to me knew that my orientation was towards history and politics. I even tried to enroll in the literary branch during preparatory school, but unfortunately it was not available in our school in our area. I even chose Tal Kayf, even though it was quite far away from us, to enroll in the literary branch, and it didn’t materialize. I enrolled in science branch, and I got a good average that qualified me for admission to the College of Nursing, which I did not join because it was not my ambition or goal.
After many twists and turns, I managed to study in the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul (evening study).
Initially, I didn’t think about getting an advanced or first place… and that wasn’t my goal. But during my studies, I began to feel the fun and excitement of reading the theories of scientists and thinkers and exploring the theories of peace and wars that were taking place between countries, as well as the current events that took place. I didn’t see myself until they told me: You ranked first in the first stage… and the following stages where I was the first.
As for the ceremony that took place last Thursday, July 10, 2025, where I was honored as the first in the college for both morning and evening studies with a distinction.

We Yazidis are most in need of these departments, branches and scientific specializations. We need to familiarize our community with the doors of humanities such as history and politics to the outside world.
We Yazidis are going through difficult times, especially before, during, and even after the Yazidi genocide. These scientific departments come to us to calmly analyze and make plans. Then establish research centers and submit research papers to the relevant authorities.
All peoples who suffer from persecution or violations need political and historical academic research departments.
