The University of Mosul, represented by Prof. Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University, hosted Prof. Dr. Haider Abd Dahd, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Scientific Affairs, on Saturday, July 19, 2025, to deliver a valuable lecture in a scientific seminar entitled “Iraqi scientific research between ambition and global ranking: Tools and Challenges”.

In the presence of Prof. Dr. Muzahim Al-Khayat, Chairman of the Parliamentary Education Committee, members of the University Council, a number of universities presidents, the President of the University the prseident of Academics Syndicate, heads of scientific departments and directors of administrative departments at the university.

The President of the University welcomed the Undersecretary for Scientific Affairs and the attendees, praising him for responding to his invitation to deliver a lecture in this place.

After that, Prof. Dr. Haider Abd Dahad delivered his speech in which he referred to the efforts and keenness of Mr. President of the University and his invitation to him to deliver this lecture.

He emphasized on the Ministry’s tendency to adopt the entry of universities to international scientific classifications in their evaluation, and its support for them by all means in order to upgrade scientific research seeking to catch up with the world.

He praised the University of Mosul’s sober research that has entered the important classifications and its continued march in this direction.

He called on universities and academic institutions to pursue automation and governance in scientific and administrative dealings for the sake of a desired renaissance and a goal achieved by the unity of all as a way to advancement and progress.
