University of Mosul Students: A Promising Future of Scientific Achievement
President Honors Team for Winning XO Championship and Super Cup in Baghdad

On Monday,4 Aug,2025, Prof. Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, received and honored the university’s student team that participated in the XO Championship and Super Cup organized by the Scientific Welfare Directorate of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, held in Baghdad from June 22 to 25, 2025. The team was accompanied by Mr. Bassam Hussein Qalandar, Director of the Scientific Welfare Forum / Nineveh.

The University of Mosul team was crowned champion of both the XO Tournament and the Super Cup after defeating the finalist team representing Iraq’s schools, earning first place at the level of Nineveh Province.

The President praised this distinguished achievement, highlighting the high level of talent among the university’s students and the vital role of faculty in mentoring and supporting student initiatives, as well as providing an environment that fosters creativity and success. He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to nurturing students and empowering them to attain national scientific accomplishments.

At the end of the meeting, the President presented certificates of appreciation to the team members and Mr. Qalandar. The championship trophy was formally presented to the University of Mosul in recognition of its continuous support and sponsorship.
