On Sunday, August 4, 2025, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmood Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, received Iraqi Member of Parliament Mr. Khalid Sultan Hashem. The meeting was also attended by Dr. Suhaib Khalid Jassim Al-Taie, Dean of the College of Political Science.

During the meeting, discussions focused on ways to support academic institutions and enhance their role in societal development. MP Khalid Sultan praised the scientific and historical standing of the University of Mosul, emphasizing the importance of creating legislative and logistical environments that enable the university to implement its strategic visions.

The two sides also stressed the importance of expanding partnerships with Arab and Gulf academic institutions through the signing of memorandums of understanding and scientific cooperation. Such initiatives aim to open new avenues for academic exchange, advance research programs, and enhance the competencies of both students and faculty members.
