Reaffirming its commitment to providing practical field training opportunities and enhancing students’ hands-on experience, the students of the College of Petroleum and Mining Engineering at the University of Mosul continue their participation in the STARTUP Exchange Program – Season Three, which brings together petroleum engineering students from various Iraqi universities.

In this context, the third group of university students visited the Zubair Oil Field in Basra Governorate. The tour included a visit to the ZPEC-20 drilling rig operated by Schlumberger (SLB), in coordination with the Zubair Operating Company.

This training is part of a comprehensive program designed to enable students to gain direct exposure to the field work environment, learn about the latest drilling technologies, and understand safety procedures. It aims to strengthen their scientific and professional readiness and contribute to preparing qualified engineering cadres to serve Iraq’s oil and energy sector.
