In Line with Sustainable Development Goals and Preserving Water Heritage: The College of Archaeology at the University of Mosul Organizes a Campaign to Clean the Banks of the Tigris River

As part of its commitment to promoting environmental awareness and reinforcing the concept of social responsibility, and under the direct supervision of Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul—the College of Archaeology organized a voluntary campaign to clean the banks of the Tigris River, with the participation of its student team and the supervision of the Dean, Professor Dr. Yasmin Abdul Kareem Mohammed Ali.
The campaign included, alongside cleaning activities, the distribution of educational posters aimed at raising awareness of the importance of protecting the river and preserving its waters as a civilizational and vital heritage for future generations.
This initiative reflects the University of Mosul’s commitment to environmental protection and community service, while practically translating the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly:
Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being
Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation
Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
Through this effort, the university, led by Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, reaffirms its humanitarian and national mission to safeguard natural resources, ensuring their sustainability as a symbol of life and prosperity.
