President of the University of Mosul Receives Committee for the Establishment of Master’s Programs at the College of Pharmacy

 

On the morning of Monday, August 18, 2025, Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, received in his office two committees tasked with establishing new Master’s programs in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Clinical Laboratory Sciences at the College of Pharmacy.

The meeting was attended by Professor Dr. Abdul Rahim Ibrahim Jassim, the Assitant of the President for Scientific Affairs, and Professor Dr. Yasser Fakhri Mustafa, Dean of the College of Pharmacy.

During the meeting, the President emphasized that the progress of nations is closely tied to the effectiveness of applied research and its ability to provide practical solutions to health and societal challenges. He noted that the College of Pharmacy at the University of Mosul represents a central pillar in advancing scientific research in its applied fields.

It was further stressed that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is making significant efforts to support scientific research, thereby opening wider horizons for researchers. The President also called for the formation of joint research teams across Iraqi universities to enhance the scientific value and societal impact of research.

The discussions also addressed the urgent need to secure sufficient funding for pharmaceutical research and to provide the essential raw materials required by researchers, ensuring high-quality scientific outputs that contribute to community service.
