PhD Student in Electronics and Semiconductor Engineering at the University of Mosul Wins International Best Research Award

 

PhD student Ahmed Salem Jarallah from the Department of Electrical Engineering, specializing in Electronics and Semiconductors at the University of Mosul, has received the International Best Research Award. The research was conducted under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Tareq Yassin, Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Mosul (primary supervisor), and Professor Dr. Qais Dhanoon Najm from the College of Electronics Engineering, University of Nineveh (secondary supervisor).

The award recognized his published research entitled:
“Gate Engineering Solutions to Mitigate Short Channel Effects in a 20 nm MOSFET.”

The study focused on the design and development of MOSFET devices, innovative insulating materials, mitigation of short-channel effects, and high-speed applications of nanoscale devices.

This achievement reflects the strong research standing of the University of Mosul and its continuous efforts to foster innovation and advance scientific infrastructure in alignment with sustainable development goals.
