Reflecting its academic standing and international presence, the University of Mosul hosted the 2025 International Soroban and Mental Mathematics Championship, organized by the British International Academy in cooperation with the International Soroban and Mental Mathematics Federation/Iraq Commission.

The championship was held under the patronage of Nineveh Governor Mr. Abdelqader Al-Dakhil, with the presence of Professor Dr. Nebras Younis, Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, and under the supervision of international coach Mr. Mohammed Ali Al-Jiyani, with broad international participation.

This event aims to develop students’ mental calculation skills, enhancing creative thinking and mental agility, while reinforcing the role of the University of Mosul in supporting youth potential and fostering scientific communication on both local and international levels.
