In line with its commitment to serving the community and strengthening partnerships with health institutions, Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of Mosul University, held an extensive meeting today, Tuesday, August 26, 2025, with relevant authorities from the Ministry of Health, in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Al-Abadi, Director of the Directorate of Specialized Centers at the Ministry, and Dr. Dilshad Ali Abdullah, Director of the Nineveh Health Directorate.
The meeting featured in-depth discussions on the scientific and research capabilities of the university and the mechanisms to employ them in supporting the city’s health sector. This collaboration aims to overcome the shortages in hospitals and medical centers that were damaged between 2014 and 2017, which deprived citizens of essential health services.
The participants also emphasized the importance of continuous communication among all parties, supporting modern approaches, and utilizing advanced technologies in medical and research work to ensure streamlined procedures, speed, and accuracy in service delivery.
The meeting was attended by Professor Dr. Abdul Rahim Ibrahim Jasim, Assistant President for Scientific Affairs; Assistant Professor Dr. Rafil Hasan Hamid, Administrative Assistant to the University President; Assistant Professor Dr. Alia Abdulaziz Najm, Director of the Board of Research Centers; Professor Dr. Samir Al-Saffar, Head of Medical and Therapeutic Research Centers at Mosul University; Dr. Omar Hammoudat, Director of the Research Hospital at Nineveh Health Directorate; and Dr. Sahar Hiyal Ghanem, Director of the Legal Affairs Department at the University Presidency.
