On Tuesday, 26 August, 2025, chaired by the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Waheed Mahmood Al-ibrahimi the 22 session of University Council for the academic year 2024-2025 with the attendance of all the members.

The session discussed a series of scientific, academic, and administrative topics, most notably:

⦁ Encouraging faculty members to publish in international databases (Scopus and Clarivate) and adhere to the regulations for academic promotion.

⦁ The national project “Industrial Innovation Pathways” aimed at activating technology incubators and information parks and linking them to industrial development.

⦁ Mechanisms to enhance research performance indicators and improve the h-index within the Scientific Affairs’ five-year plan (2026–2030).

⦁ Emphasizing the distinctiveness of postgraduate research topics in terms of innovation and their scientific and societal value.

⦁ Complying with Ministry instructions to limit attendance at postgraduate discussions to graduate students and the college’s academic staff only.

⦁ Preparations for second-round exams and provision of all necessary requirements.

⦁ Reviewing the steps for submitting applications for program accreditation for colleges and academic departments according to international academic accreditation standards.

⦁ The agenda also included discussion of several other items and the adoption of the necessary recommendations.
