International Webinar On Covid-19: Efforts & Whereabouts

Under the patronage of Rector Kossay Al-Ahmady, University of Mosul, in cooperation with ISN-CTR OFFICE of the US Department of State, and Alwan Global Consultants, held a webinar on the latest of Coronavirus Pandemic on Monday, August 17, 2020.The webinar was attended by Prof. Dr. Munir Salim Taha, the University Rector Assistant for Scientific Affairs, a number of the University Deans of colleges and other faculty, representatives of other Iraqi universities, representatives of Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, representatives of Department of Health of Nineveh; Ms. Haley Smith of the ISN-CTR OFFICE, US Department of State, Dr. Ali Al-Amiri, Director of the , CSP Washington, and Prof. Dr. Natasha K. Griffith of the Higher Containment Center, University Researches and Administration Services, Research Safety Office, University of Georgia, Georgia, USA.The event included briefings and presentations on the latest of the Pandemic, the ways of prevention, and the techniques of health awareness-raising. The webinar, which aimed to get support for the Department of Health of Nineveh, discussed the procedure followed in classifying the Coronavirus cases as to the intensity of having it, how to assess the hazards on the medical crews working on the first line of contact with the cases; the mechanism of sterilization and dusting of the labs allocated to diagnose Covid-19 and other hospitals and quarantines. Also, the webinar included a presentation on the concept of vaccination, the detailed procedures of the production of vaccines, and the latest efforts to produce working vaccines that are safe and effective.Likewise, the webinar aimed at establishing a scientific cooperation between the University and the global institutions interested in fighting Coronavirus.
