University of Mosul Discusses the Economical and Social Effects of Solar Energy Project

 

As part of enhancing international cooperation in the field of clean energy, Professor Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, received a representative from TetraTech, the company implementing the solar energy project, which is being implemented with support from the German Development Bank (KfW).

During the meeting attended by Dr. Riyadh Zaki Sabri a faculty member in the Department of Sustainable Energies in the College of Engineering, the two parties addressed the social and economical effects of the project, which is considered one of the pioneer strategic projects in Nineveh, plays a key role in providing alternative energy sources, reducing reliance on the national grid.

The President of the University emphasized on the importance of the project in reducing in lowering operational costs for the university, developing the working cadres, and engaging the students in its practical stages, thereby enhancing their scientific expertise and supporting their academic specializations.
